Fuck Yeah Danzig

All hail Glenn Danzig. Just because.

In September 1982 the Misfits embarked on a national tour, with the Necros as their opening act. During the tour they stopped at a studio to record the instrumental tracks for their next EP. They were arrested in New Orleans on charges of grave robbing while attempting to locate the grave of voodoo practitioner Marie Laveau, but bailed themselves out of jail and skipped their court date in order to drive to their next performance in Florida.

“CAN’T SPEAK” - DANZIG

Most anyone you talked to that day, however, was waiting for Danzig— despite the likes of Mission of Burma and GZA also on the bill. But it makes sense: Even if we weren’t in a post-Halloween glow, the Misfits are immortal.

It would be a shame to miss him. I listened to a lot of punk music when I was growing up, and the Misfits were one of the bands that I really loved, so it would be a shame to miss Danzig.

— Fuck Buttons

I heard you were having a drought here, so i brought in the black clouds of Danzig.

When I was a kid I loved the Misfits. I’m more interested in seeing [Danzig’s] muscles.

“CHILDREN IN HEAT” - THE MISFITS

For no particular reason, this is my all time favorite Misfits/Danzig related song. What’s yours?

Been there, done that.

I cannot live with that guy. He is so annoying, he is so frightening, and he doesn’t wear a shirt.

“AM I DEMON” - DANZIG

I don’t care what you think about Ted Leo; this is by far the best Misfits/Danzig tribute I have ever seen. There’s six parts, and they’re all totally worth watching. I know it’s blasphemous, but these performances just might be better than any live Misfits footage you can find on the internet.
